Deep South Walk/Run For Women

“we’re doing an earlier deep south women’s walk as well, Sunday 27 September, because this movement needs to start NOW.

we cannot sit around and wait for the government to act. we cannot wait for another woman to become a statistic. we cannot wait until it’s convenient.

we need to build this movement now. we need everyone on board now. we need our communities loud, angry and impossible to ignore!!!

and men!!! we need you there too. share this. send it to your friends. bring your brothers, your fathers, your mates. GBV is not a “women’s issue” for women to solve alone

💜 27 SEPTEMBER. SHOW UP.

go to Women for Change for all the details.

we’re starting now.”

When: New date on 27 September 2026 | From 4pm
Where: Glencairn Beach Parking Lot to Muizenberg Train Station

One kilometre. One community. One message.
Let our feet speak.

Run 4 Her

“As one of Cape Town’s women-only running communities, it is with heavy hearts that we have decided to dedicate this Saturday’s run to the memory of our sister, Elizabeth. 🕊️

Elizabeth’s story is a devastating reminder of the reality so many women face, and it has deeply shaken our running community and beyond.

This is not a trend.
This is not content.
This is not a moment to seek attention.

This is about a life.
A sister.
A daughter.
A family.
A woman whose life mattered.

We run this Saturday in her memory, in solidarity with her loved ones, and for every woman who deserves to feel safe while running, walking, going home, or simply living her life.

May Elizabeth never be reduced to a headline.

We remember her. We honour her. We stand together.”

More information via Instagram.

When: 19 September 2026 | From 7.30am
Where: Table Bay Mall

Run For Her

“She went out for a run. She should have come home.

This week’s Crew Run is dedicated to remembering the women whose lives have been taken by femicide.

Femicide is an ongoing crisis in South Africa. Awareness alone is not enough. Ending it requires all of us to recognise the violence women face, challenge what allows it to continue and refuse to accept it as normal.

We run to remember those we have lost, to stand in solidarity with women and to recognise that what we do after this run matters too.

Wear black. Take a purple ribbon. Run for HER✊.”

More information via Instagram.

When: 16 September 2026 | From 6pm
Where: SportSA Paarl
